But I must say, after sitting with this bible for the past day, it has been a bit of a revelation to me. The feel of the calfskin leather cover (and liner) was unlike any bible I had previously handled. For many years, Schuyler has maintained a top-notch reputation for publishing premium bibles for a protestant audience, and the photos of those editions have always been spectacular. If not for the superb and highly regarded 1977 Ecumenical Study Bible edition of THE NEW OXFORD ANNOTATED BIBLE WITH THE APOCRYPHA (Revised Standard Version)the RSV would have long ago been forgottena most unfortunate outcome for what is in my opinion the Gold standard of the Holy Scriptures in the English language. Its a great method for learning Biblical Greek. First is its 10pt Milo typeface, which is slightly smaller than the 11pt typeface of previous Quentels, yet still quiet comfortable to read (the folks at Schuyler confirmed my hunch that this decision was made in order to keep the editions of the RSV Quentel that include the Apocrypha from becoming too bulky). Verses are listed at the bottom of the page by red verse numberings with its corresponding cross-references in black. The RSV tends to be my favorite translation to use, but like most translations that have Catholic editions, they are rarely made with the care and elegance for which the Schuyler bibles are known. you is plural and Gk.
